Head Coach
Jason Wilford
Jason is the Head Coach of ONE80 Multisport USA and an IRONMAN Certified Coach. Originally from South Africa, Jason relocated with his family to Northwest Arkansas in 2018 to pursue his passion for triathlon and endurance sports. Transitioning from his role as a business CEO, Jason committed to becoming a full-time coach, dedicating himself to helping athletes reach their goals.
With a strong background in swimming and water polo, Jason’s endurance journey began in his mid-20s as a key member of an elite adventure racing team. Competing in grueling multi-day events spanning up to 250 miles, Jason achieved numerous wins and podium finishes in these high-stakes races. His experience in endurance sports laid the foundation for his transition into triathlon, where his focus shifted after the birth of his children.
Since then, Jason has competed in triathlon events around the globe, tackling all distances and earning an impressive record of 49 Half and Full IRONMAN finishes. In May 2023, he celebrated a significant milestone by completing his 50th IRONMAN race, a testament to his dedication to the sport and his personal drive.
Reflecting on his journey, Jason says, “Just when I thought I couldn’t find anything I’d enjoy more, I became a coach—and the sport that was my passion transformed my lifestyle into a life-changing mission. I’m humbled to play a role in helping others achieve their dreams and goals, while building a supportive community of people who do epic things!”
Jason’s approach as a coach is rooted in his love for endurance sports and his desire to inspire others. He is dedicated to fostering a positive, empowering environment where athletes not only reach their potential but also discover the joy of pushing their boundaries.
Assistant Coach
Adam Fortin
Adam Fortin is a USAT level 1 certified coach and a ACSM certified trainer. He uses these certifications to coach and train all ages in multiple endurance disciplines from 5k to marathon in running and sprint to Ironman in triathlon.
Coach Adam is an Arkansas native who has been working with kids almost 20 years and coaching kids triathlon for 8 years. He came to the sport of triathlon after college when he heard about the sport from a family friend. He completed his first triathlon, Ozark Valley Triathlon, and knew he found a sport he loved and wanted to share with others. He was asked to help coach a group getting ready for Trifest for MS. He loved the experience of sharing what he had learned, supporting athletes, and motivating them to reach their goals. After that year Adam was given the chance to start a program to coach kids for Trifest and this is when he found his huge passion. He loves working with kids giving them skills they can use for the rest of their lives to stay healthy and active, and giving them confidence to be themselves.
Adam said if you’re around him enough you’ll hear him talk about control – “what you can control”. For him it starts with his smile😊 . His favorite quote that he shared he got from Chris McCormack’s book I’m Here to Win. He has a quote “when the pain comes you know what I do? I smile” that quote has helped Adam tremendously over the years change how he views pain. Smiling helps him switch his mindset and think positively. If you have to be in pain might as well do it with a smile.
